Based in switzerland, the company was originally known for their inimitable collection of ladies’ and pocket watches. After the death of louis ulysse in 1915, the company was taken over by his son, paul louis, together with the grandson, paul andre. The two decided to move the company operations in the town of chaux de fonds in canton of neuchatel. As they eventually grew in numbers, the company relocated to geneva. A couple of decades after, paul andre sold chopard to karl scheufele iii, a german goldsmith and watchmaker. Chopard is still owned by the scheufele family up to this day.
